UPDATE! – Access was restored April 19th.
Due to excessive downloading attempts, American Physical Society (APS) has blocked access via EZproxy. We are working on a resolution. Stay Tuned
Due to a change in how URLs are formatted (http VS https), some Oxford Journals are popping up error messages on and off campus.
Hopefully, this will be resolved soon.
In the meanwhile, report problems to us via our Help Form. A work around (on campus only) is to take the problem URL in the error message, for example:
http://ezproxy.library.ubc.ca/login?url=https://jiplp.oxfordjournals.org/
…and use just this part of it:
https://jiplp.oxfordjournals.org/
BUT this only works on campus.
**UPDATE – ACCESS RESTORED** If you had problems yesterday, Please clear the history (cache & cookies) from browsers and try accessing Wiley now. Contact us via the Help Form if problems persist.
We are currently experiencing access problems for the Wiley Online Library eBooks & eJournals – especially via EZproxy.
Working on a solution. Watch this space for updates.
UPDATE – Access temporarily restored while problem being sorted. Please clear history (cache & cookies) from your browser and try accessing again.
Access to the Wiley journals & ebooks is experiencing problems.
All off-campus access via EZproxy is down. Some on-campus access is down, as well. We are working on the problem.
Hello & Happy Whateveryoucaretocelebrate!
The team here is a little bushed, so we are taking a break over the holiday season.
The eResources & Access Team, will be away from December 24th till January 4th. Please continue to submit your questions/problems via our Help Form during that time, and we will get to them ASAP in the New Year.
…but don’t you deserve a break, too?
If you are presented with this option for Linking Out of PubMed to an article, either click on the UBC eLink icon or
go to the “LinkOut -more Resources” drop-down under the Abstract and select the “Ovid Technologies, Inc.” link.
This is especially important when off campus and logging in through EZproxy as a pop-up window which offers two buttons (one for OvidSP & one for LWW Journals) drops out of EZproxy.
This will take some time to resolve. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Wiley Online Library will be unavailable on Saturday 7th November 2015 from 10:00-16:00 GMT / 05:00-11:00 EST / 18:00-00:00 SGT for essential maintenance. Apologies for the inconvenience.
Hello:
Access to Wiley ejournals and ebooks is currently down for off-campus users. On campus access is not effected. We are working on it. Thank you for your patience.
This time of years sees a spike in online resource problems. Partly it’s due to renewal payments being delayed, partly it’s new resources launched in January starting to get more notice… and their quirks getting more attention as well.
The current list of problems we are working on includes:
UN Comtrade – site thinks we are “Guests” not subscribers, so bulk downloading disabled
Informs eJournals – subscriptions lapsed
Antiquity – journal moved to new site and access to archived issues lost
Development – loss of access to the journal
…and there are a couple other issues we are working on. Report any problems to our Help Form.
…and Stay Tuned!
There had been reports of people having problems off-campus using Macs/Safari and logging into Google Scholar via EZproxy.
If you are wondering why someone would even do this, the reason is that using EZproxy means you have a UBC IP address. So, you can follow the UBC eLink form the Google Scholar results and get to articles we have access to.
The problem seems to be solved (Safari was dropping the EZproxy bit from the URL). Please clear the cache & cookies (history) from Safari if you had problems in the past. If you still have problems, please email our Help Form.
Merry [place reason-to-celebrate or just-feel-good-about-yourself-and-others here]
