Currently, there seems to be a problem linking at the ARTICLE level from Summon, PubMed, etc. to ScienceDirect. We are investigating.
If you don’t want to land at the JOURNAL level in ScienceDirect and then hunt for your article, you can go to ScienceDirect’s Advanced Search page and search for the article from there. Remember though, that as you are not coming from the Library you will not see our coverage dates ahead of time. It is possible you will find an article outside our access dates. If the article lacks a green box or a PDF icon, odds are we do not have access.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

*TRIAL HAS ENDED*
Remember the “old” days when you could brows the journals on a magazine stand? Well, BrowZine virtually brings that back!
From now till June 4th, 2014, UBC
Library is trialling the BrowZine App. This app is available for iPads & Android tablets only.
You can:
- Create your own custom bookshelves
- Download articles (PDFs) to read offline
- Set alerts for your favourite journals
Watch a video describing BrowZine here.
Go to the download page here.
Note: when setting BrowZine up on your device, you will be asked to “Choose a Library” (under “u” for University of British Columbia”) and to enter your CWL info. Your CWL info stays on your device and is NOT sent to BrowZine.
Give us feedback on BrowZine, PLEASE!

The eDuke Ebook linking issue has been fixed. Please continue to submit tickets to the Eresource & Access unit if you encounter any issues:
http://ow.ly/wfD1K
Some eDuke ebooks are linking to DOI error messages because they are not yet published on the eDuke site. We are in contact with Duke University Press to fix the problem and will soon update our eDuke holdings to reflect only those ebooks that are accessible.

Thank you for your patience.

The ebook aggregator Knovel is pulling all its Wiley-Blackwell titles at the end of March. They had pulled access earlier, but restored it temporarily.
The reason behind the pulling is that the agreement between Wiley and Knovel was not renewed for 2014. This is a decision between these two companies: the publisher Wiley and the platform Knovel.
