China Online Journals: Wanfang Has Moved, Old Links Broken

Posted on July 16, 2012 @5:06 pm by madgett

*UPDATE* Sadly, Wanfang is reluctant to supply Serials Solutions (the company that helps manage our online linking) with the new URLs. This means the individual links are still broken. Please use the link to the China Online Journals home page listed below.

China Online Journals has changed its URLs. Unfortunately, our links haven’t switched over as quickly and all links to the individual ejournals lead to an error message.

While this gets sorted, please use the new China Online Journals home page and look for individual ejournals there. We hope the updating won’t take long. Thanks for your patience.

EBSCO eBooks: Off-Line Downloading to End Temporarily

Posted on January 31, 2012 @1:58 pm by madgett

Currently, on the EBSCO eBook platform you can download ebooks off-line. Unfortunately, as the majority are single-user ebooks, this means no one else can access the ebook for 7 days. In order to make accessing fairer to all, we will be temporarily suspending off-line downloading on the EBSCO eBook platform later this week.

This move also brings EBSCO ebooks more into line with ebrary ebooks: single-user ebrary ebooks cannot be downloaded off-line either (multi-user ebooks on ebrary can).

The ability to download, email or print .pdf pages or sections (in most cases up to 60 pages) on EBSCO eBooks platform should not be affected.
