Well, take a look at the National Library of Scotland’s Digital Gallery Covering everything from “The origins of golf … a matter of mystery and controversy” to “The life, work and legacy of Scotland’s Bard…”

China Online Journals: Work-Around Links Added

Posted on July 26, 2012 @4:46 pm by madgett

Starting tomorrow, links for the China Online Journals will all point to the WanFang Data Periodicals search page. This will mean the journal title will have to be searched a second time from there, but at least the links will work.

Apologies for the extra step, but it is a work-around that works, as opposed to the current links which do not.

You may also want to bookmark this Advanced Search Page as it could make finding articles (when you have the citation) easier to find than searching just the journal title or browsing.

Nineteenth Century Collections Online: New resource

Posted on July 3, 2012 @11:01 am by madgett

Nineteenth Century Collections Online is the most ambitious scholarly digitization and publication program ever undertaken, providing searchable content from a wide range of primary sources for the “long” 19th century. At all stages of development, Gale sought the guidance and feedback of professionals and end-users to ensure that we were selecting,
digitizing and preserving unique, invaluable documents. Nineteenth Century Collections Online unites multiple, distinct archives into a single resource a wide variety of previously unavailable primary sources, including:
■ Books and monographs
■ Newspapers and periodicals
■ Diaries and Personal Letters
■ Manuscripts
■ Photographs
■ Pamphlets
■ Maps
■ And more
