We coordinate and facilitate the purchase and primary discovery of library materials in any format, providing access to information needed to support the education and research mission of the University.

- Titles in various formats (print books, e-books, DVD, CD, streaming media, music scores, data files, and microfilm) are acquired from all over the world in a variety of languages for every subject area.
- This work is primarily performed on behalf of and in consultation with subject selectors. Acquisitions also has a role in coordination of mediated materials request initiatives that support teaching, learning and research at UBC.
