The Library is in the middle of a migration to a new authentication system : OpenAthens.
No doubt there will be some hiccups along the way.
Please be patient as we work out the bugs, and look to our new Ask Us portal to report any problems.

Currently, Print books in Summon are displaying a “Locations” hypertext that leads to a “Try UBC eLink” button that leads to an error.
As a result, you can’t get to the Print book’s record in the Catalogue from Summon.
To get to the Print Book’s records, search for the book’s title from here .
Use the “Search Catalogue” option Title begins with from the drop-down menu.
We hope to have this resolved ASAP.
According to Ex Libris, migration successful and all services restored.
On May 29th, our 3rd-party discovery service, Ex Libris, is migrating to new servers. As a result, there will be some interruption to our discovery services for 24 hours (Saturday, May 29 at 18:00 PDT to Sunday, May 30 at 18:00 PDT).

Users who try to use the Citation Linker or the eJournal Portal will see a message from Ex Libris explaining that the service is unavailable due to scheduled maintenance.

UBC Restored to Google Scholar
Google Scholar has dropped UBC Library (UBC eLink) as an option from its “Library Links” under “Settings”. Unfortunately, this will take about a week to resolve.
In the meanwhile, if you have installed our Library Access Browser Extension from Lean Library, you can highlight the article’s title from a Google Scholar result, right click, and use the “Search_Summon@UBC” option to run a search in Summon.

Several Elsevier resources -ScienceDirect, ClinicalKey, Engineering Village, various ebooks & ejournals are down. This is a known issue that is being worked on.
