*UPDATE* All fixed, per ProQuest.
“We are currently experiencing system difficulties and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and your users. We have every available resource working on the problem…”
Hmm. Sounds like a peck of trouble down at the ol’ ProQuest place. Everything seemed to be working briefly around 3:30 pm. Stay tunedNo Comments

EZProxy service is back. Friday’s problems now resolved.
We’re having problems with our ezproxy server. Systems staff are investigating and we hope access will be restored as quickly as possible.
In the meantime, resources authenticated via EZProxy are unavailable. We apologize especially for the inconvenience to our Books 24×7 and Euromonitor (GMID) database users.

“… Smart Materials and Structures, published by non-profit scientific publisher IOP Publishing, UK, has announced that it has been named one of the most influential journals in the field of engineering in 2009, as recognised by ScienceWatch.com from Thomson Reuters.” –Knowledgespeak Newsletter 13 Aug 2009.No Comments

A clarification needs to be made about links claiming “Full text available” on the SFX pop-up menu. Links near the top of the menu (usually right under the journal or article title) try to connect you to THAT journal / article.
“Full text available” near the bottom (usually just below “Check the UBC Catalogue” or ” Order Documents from CISTI Order”) are for what SFX considers related journals, which most likely will NOT have what you want.
This is a known, confusing and frustrating issue we are trying to resolve. No Comments

“Online since 2003, IPA Source is the web’s largest library of International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) transcriptions and literal translations of opera arias and art song texts.”
“Ha, stolzer ozean!” Who said that? Find out at IPA Source.

*UPDATE* The date is back to January 1st. My head is spinning!
*UPDATE* The switch-over date is now September 1st not January 1st.
“To date, the SAGE Full-Text Collections have been available on both the ProQuest CSA Illumina platform and the SAGE Journals Online platform. After December 31, 2009, the SAGE Full-Text Collections will be available exclusively on SAGE Journals Online.” -Sage Library Newsletter, July 2009
For you, this means you’ll have to change any bookmarks you have for Sage titles on CSA Illumina. We will be updating our A-Z list and OpenURL linking. No Comments

*UPDATE* Box fixed. Now you can sort your Library Catalogue search results. “Thank you,” to the Systems folks!
The title of this post basically sums it up: the “Sort By” drop-down box which appears with your search results in the UBC Library catalogue currently does nothing. We are working on the problem. Stay tuned.

The Library’s RefWorks crew has updated their information page. Please take a look. Remember to use the CORRECT URL for UBC patrons. Or as the Library’s RefWorks crew puts it:
“Do NOT create an account from the US refworks site.”No Comments
